The Files

When in prison the assumption is
every move and idle word 

is seen and heard and kept on file. 

Then we're released 

into this Orwellian dream 

we call the free world 

where every move and idle word

and kept in another file.

He rang the bell and woke us up
and now we will hunt him down,
pound him to the ground
and lock him away.

Then we wonder why they spy
and keep their eye
on every thing we do and say.
