to buying prescription drugs

and not going broke?

to a great healthcare program

for all the people?

to lowering deficits

and reducing debts?

to becoming smart enough

to recognize lies?

i am not angry

nor do i see much anger

in everyday life

but accordingly

to media talking heads

people are angry

yet i don't see it

but disgusted however

is seen everywhere

along with bitter

and tons of resignation

but little anger

to sum it all up

i don't believe in

aliens from outer space

with advanced powers

nor do i believe

in area fifty one

or super hero's

i simply believe

in your right to believe in

anything you want

just don't expect me

to mindlessly go along

to gain your favor

i know what i know

and i know things are changing

and we will adapt

cuz we always do

since the beginning of time

it's what life does best

stands to reason haiku

appease the wicked

and you'll soon be as wicked

as the one appeased

the longer it takes

to solve a tiny problem

the bigger it grows

he who starts a fight

then runs before it's finished

what ever happened

to the land i grew up in?

a land where hero's

actually walked among us

but denied they ever were

a land where famous

was the result of good deeds

instead of how much

money you got from daddy

for just staying out of his hair

a land where we helped

those who needed it the most

and by doing so,

no matter how much it cost

made us the light of the world

watching the players acting

like they cured cancer

after every stupid play

whether they're winning or not

it makes me wonder

what is their real objective

are they there to win

or are they auditioning

for some reality show

like autumn leaves

the values of our nation

would just up and disappear
