Modern Savior

I visualize Jesus
in the world today.
A great PR man
losing his way

to all the complexities
befalling every man.
Too busy working
to ever take a stand

as the second coming
remains just a myth.
Ignoring the promise,
allowing us to drift

between what’s right
and so, so wrong.
Eyes looking upward,
ears hearing the song

of another siren
in the distant night.
Another scene unfolds,
another horrific sight

and he at a computer
deciding work or play.
This time he thinks,
‘I’ll do it their way‘.

  2. This was very moving. A question that one searches deep within their soul... and realizes the responsibility is ultimately theirs.

    Very good poetry!
